Welcome to 4th Grade!!
We focus on the core values of respect, responsibility, caring, teamwork, trust and perseverance
which are a recipe for a good people, good friends and success!
2018-19 School year supplies:
A couple of days before school starts there will be a school supply list posted at Nordstrom office. The list was created by our teacher team. Here, you will find a list of supplies just for our class.
School supplies needed on a daily basis: A standard 1 1/2 inch three ring binder, 24ct. colored pencils, black expo markers, two glue sticks, small scissors, paper towels, pencils, and ear buds. In the first week of school, students will add to their binder, one homework folder and a planner which will be given to them.
Some dates to remember:
Policy: Parents interested in field trips/working in class, will need to be fingerprinted and have TB clearance and paperwork. You can go to the office and get paper work to start this process.
On this website you will find our daily homework as well as other important notes and news. Students should NOT depend on school notes for daily homework. They will need to use their planners for recorded information. Life skills at work.
Wear your Nordstrom shirt every Friday. Fourth grade is color blue so you can wear that too!
Dance this week and we will attend until Jan. Time: 11:10am
Please sign up for a conference on the spreadsheet that I sent on October 12th.
No school Nov. 9 and Nov.12
Websites that support curriculum
Aeries gradebook: Go to mhusd.org, then choose the middle icon "grading", then create a password. These are not final grades. Ensure that the office has your correct email in the system.
The following websites will support classroom curriculum:
Scholastic News: Scholasticnews.sn/4 (class code if needed: S5qbtr)
Grammar support: softschools.com
CCSS Math support: Kahn Academy/learnzillion.com/MathAntics

Here are the sites we go onto every day.
1. Students enter their email account. firstname.lastname@example.org
2. Students click the "waffle" or grid in the upper far right corner of their screen. (It will be a drop down)
3. Students choose google classroom. (class pass code if needed: S5qbtr)
4. Students see all their working assignments and spelling words in Quizlet.
Daily Reading Log:
Please help your child by correcting errors on their daily reading log before turning it in on Friday. Please correct indention, transitional words, and adjectives.
Purpose: The reason for daily reading for 20 minutes and writing is to develop comprehension and consistent practice of components when writing a paragraph. The focus is on indent, transitions, and adjectives. Please check for underlined titles.
Students need to increase their keyboarding skills for CCSS. Please go to typing.com (suggested programs that include finger placing will help the most). Students have their password in their binders.
Information about cyber bullying, digital footprints, and appropriate conduct will be discussed in class and I hope at home as well. This is an important concept to teach at a young age to set protocol.
Core values at work:
We always practice our core values of respect, responsibility, caring, trust, teamwork, and perseverance through our yellow ticket system. Students who receive a yellow ticket through the week try their luck at "Corn Hole" on Fridays. In addition, PBIS is the chosen positive behavior plan for our school. Students will receive PAW prints for expected behavior in class and on campus. PAWS will be entered into a drawing for special rewards.
Friendly reminder: Only bring in plastic bottles in a separate bag from cans on Wednesdays.
Field Trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium: December 4th. Come to class at 7:15am.
