Core Values: Academics and Personal Attributes at Work in Room 3
The big picture in class!!
We will focus on typing skills in every subject. Please encourage your child to practice with typing .com at home for 10 minutes which can be part of their reading log. They have an account. I encourage our new program called Splash Math at home for 10 minutes.
We will continue our weekly reading log for comprehension skills. Students are invited to type/print their daily reading log. Guidelines will apply.
School supplies needed on a daily basis: A standard 1 1/2 inch three ring binder, five tab-index pocket dividers, (make sure the dividers have pockets), 24ct. colored pencils, three black expo markers, two glue sticks, small scissors, yellow highlighter, and binder paper and ear buds or head sets.
Thank you to those who have brought in supplies, recycled water bottles, and donations. We used recycle money to buy ink and auction prizes. Yippy!
In addition, 5th grade would like to use some of our recyclables for a beautification project. Please save cans too!!
Announcing students who have bought their desk for $1,500.00!

Some dates to remember:
New policy this year: Parents interested in field trips/working in class, will need to be fingerprinted and have TB clearance and paperwork.
Recycled water bottle fundraiser: Thank you to everyone who could bring in water bottles. This Friday will be our last day to bring in bottles.
We are working on skits in our team. This includes music and singing for all. Tuesday, June 6 at 8:15am. Students have items to bring for their costumes. Please keep it simple.
On this website you will find our daily homework as well as other important notes and news. Students should NOT depend on school notes for daily homework. They will need to use their planners for recorded information. Life skills at work.
Websites that support curriculum
Parents please note: You can view your child grade through this portal:
The following websites will support classroom curriculum:
Scholastic: Student login: Miss Corbisiero's class Password: coolwaves3
Grammar support: softschools.com
CCSS Math support: Kahn Academy/learnzillion.com/MathAntics
Typing: typing.com (proper finger placement is required for program)
Daily Reading Log:
Please help your child by correcting errors on their daily reading log before turning it in on Friday. Please correct indention, transitional words, and adjectives.
Purpose: The reason for daily reading for 20 minutes and writing is to develop comprehension and consistent practice of components when writing a paragraph. The focus is on indent, transitions, and adjectives.
Students need to increase their keyboarding skills for CCSS. Please go to typing.com (suggested programs that include finger placing will help the most). Students have their password in their binders.
Information about cyber bullying, digital footprints, and appropriate conduct will be discussed in class and I hope at home as well. This is an important concept to teach at a young age to set protocol.
Core values at work:
We always practice our core values of respect, responsibility, caring, trust, and perseverance through our yellow ticket system. Students who receive a yellow ticket through the week, try their luck at "Corn Hole" on Fridays.
